As the technology we build becomes more ingrained in everyday life, it's important to remember that everything is interconnected. The decisions we make over support, obsolescence, and integration have real world risks and so far it's not gone well.

In this talk, we'll cover the impact poor designs and planning have, ways to avert them, and identify the damage to our reputations as well as the financial losses.

We'll look at a few possible solutions for dealing with this issue, and how we at all levels of the software stack are responsible for making sure the right decisions are made.
