The OpenChain Project is a nascent industry standard that identifies key recommended processes for effective open source management. Its core goal is to build trust among entities in the supply chain by making license compliance simpler and more consistent. OpenChain hosts a specification for open source compliance processes, a simple method for online self-certification, and extensive educational and reference material. The project has experienced substantial membership expansion, community of conformance growth and internationalization into eight languages over the last eighteen months. This talk will outline projected developments for the coming year, explain why there is a focus on supporting adoption in Japan, Taiwan and China, and discuss how our activities are designed to provide benefit to companies in North America and Europe.
