Developing an open-source platform is completely different from developing a product using internal processes. Take inputs… the platform now has to include inputs from the community, including competitors and operators you’re not even working with – and if accepted, you have to implement them. And that (formerly internal) roadmap you’re building? It now needs to be aligned with the community. Open source also requires new skillsets, including emotional intelligence.
